Pengembangan Game Edukasi Drag-and-Drop Berbasis Android untuk Melatih Motorik Halus dan Pengenalan Huruf Latin pada Anak Down Syndrome dengan Metode RAD

Children with Down syndrome often experience delays in cognitive and motor development, particularly regarding fine motor skills and letter recognition. A lack of interactive learning media tailored to the specific needs of these children poses a significant obstacle to the learning process. This study aims to develop an Android-based educational game utilizing a drag-and-drop mechanism to train fine motor skills and facilitate Latin letter recognition in children with Down syndrome. The development method employed is Rapid Application Development (RAD), comprising the stages of requirement planning, user design, construction, and cutover (implementation). Testing results indicate that the developed educational game is suitable for use, as confirmed by validation from media and subject matter experts. Furthermore, user trials demonstrated improvements in fine motor skills and Latin letter recognition following the use of the application. Consequently, this Android-based educational game serves as an effective, engaging, and adaptive alternative learning tool for children with Down syndrome.
