Kerahasiaan Data Estimasi Biaya Pengantaran Barang Menggunakan Metode Railfence Cipher dan Vigenere Cipher

Abstract

JNE provides an estimate of the cost of delivering goods according to the specified distance and location. The problem that occurs is that data on estimated delivery costs for goods does not have confidentiality regarding the contents of the text, so it can be used for personal interests, for example to create another delivery service company with cheaper rates. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to apply a cryptographic method using the Railfence Cipher method and the Vigenere Cipher method using VB and a SQL Server database. The initial step taken is to determine the estimated cost data for delivering goods to JNE, then carry out the encryption and decryption process. In using these two methods, the first is the railfence cipher method, followed by the vigenere cipher method. The railfence method first uses the original data and key, then the secret text is obtained using the railfence method. The next step is to use the Vigenere cipher method based on secret text and ASCI code, then apply the Vigener cipher method to get the original Vigenere message and the original Railfence message. The conclusion from the research carried out is that data on estimated delivery costs is confidential regarding the contents of the data so that it cannot be used for personal interests, for example creating another delivery service company with cheaper rates.
