Abstract

This study aimed to determine the impact of using the GoogleMeet Application on students' speaking skills. This investigation was conducted with 72 students at SMAS Budi Agung Medan. Pre-test and post-test data was obtained from pupils. This research employed a quantitative methodology. The research design utilized in this study was a genuine experimental design. This study involved 71 eleventh-grade students. The research tool was a speaking examination. Two tests were used, both before and after the actual test. The SPSS 25 tool was utilized to analyze the acquired test data. The results revealed that the average post-test score for the control group was 89.61, whereas the average post-test score for the experimental group was 91.38. If sig, 2 tailed (p) was less than alpha 0.005, the alternative hypothesis, Ha, was accepted and the null hypothesis, Ho, was rejected according to the results of the hypothesis test. In this investigation, the 2-tailed significance level was 0.000, which was supported by p. It implies that using the Google Meet program had a significant impact on the speaking abilities of the students.
